General Maintenance Associate

WinnCompanies is hiring a Full Time General Maintenance Associate for our military housing community at Fort Drum Mountain Community Homes in Fort Drum, Jefferson County, NY. As a key member of our facilities team, you'll keep our residential campus running smoothly by maintaining homes, grounds, and community spaces that serve military families.

About the Role

This is a hands-on maintenance position serving a thriving military housing community. You'll work across multiple property types—residential units, administrative buildings, outdoor recreation areas, and parking facilities—ensuring everything meets our high standards for safety, cleanliness, and functionality. Your work directly supports the quality of life for the families we serve.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on residential units, including plumbing, electrical fixtures, HVAC systems, appliances, and structural components
• Maintain grounds including landscaping, snow removal, exterior lighting, and drainage systems
• Repair and maintain parking lots, walkways, and common outdoor areas
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and coordinate with other trades or contractors as needed
• Perform general cleaning, painting, drywall repair, and carpentry work
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
• Ensure compliance with military housing standards and safety regulations

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot building systems
• Experience in general maintenance, facilities repair, or related trade work
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to work flexible hours when emergency repairs are needed
• Good communication skills and professional demeanor when interacting with residents
