Spaceport Designer, Architect (Starbase Development)

SpaceX is hiring a Spaceport Designer and Architect for the Starbase Development team, based in the US. In this full-time role, you will design and engineer next-generation spaceport infrastructure that powers humanity's journey to Mars.

About the Role

As part of SpaceX's Starbase Development group, you'll create the physical foundation for space exploration. Your designs will bridge ambition and engineering reality, defining the facilities and systems that enable reliable, frequent space operations.

What You'll Do

• Architect spaceport facilities including launch pads, ground systems, and operational infrastructure
• Develop integrated design solutions that balance mission requirements with constructability
• Partner with engineering, operations, and construction teams to deliver projects on schedule
• Conduct site analysis and master planning for spaceport expansion and optimization
• Apply safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices to all designs
• Create comprehensive design documentation, drawings, and technical specifications

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent field
• Demonstrated experience designing spaceport facilities, launch infrastructure, or comparable large-scale projects
• Proficiency with CAD software and design visualization tools
• Working knowledge of space operations, launch systems, and ground support equipment
• Track record managing complex projects and leading cross-functional collaboration
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
