About the Role

As the General Music Teacher for Middle School at Lynn Public Schools, you'll lead music instruction for students in grades 6–8, fostering an appreciation for diverse musical styles and building foundational music literacy and performance skills. This full-time position offers the chance to develop well-rounded musicians and engaged citizens in a school system committed to music education excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver engaging general music lessons covering music theory, history, performance, and composition
• Instruct students in vocal and instrumental technique, ensemble participation, and music appreciation
• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel welcomed to explore music
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum
• Organize and direct performances, concerts, and musical events throughout the school year
• Participate in school and district professional development and collaborative planning

What We're Looking For

• Massachusetts teacher certification in music or general music education
• Strong knowledge of music pedagogy, theory, and repertoire for middle school students
• Proficiency with voice and at least one instrument
• Experience creating inclusive, engaging music instruction for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for fostering student creativity and musical growth
