Sergeant

Saint Mary's College of California is seeking a full-time Sergeant to join our campus security team in Moraga, Contra Costa County. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of our residential liberal arts community.

About the Role

As a Sergeant at Saint Mary's College of California, you will lead security operations and patrol activities across our Moraga Valley campus, located 20 miles east of San Francisco. You'll supervise security personnel, coordinate emergency response initiatives, and ensure the safety of our community of more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.

What You'll Do

• Conduct campus patrols and monitor security systems to maintain a safe environment
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and disturbances on campus
• Supervise and train security officers and support staff
• Investigate reports of policy violations and criminal activity
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services
• Maintain detailed incident reports and security documentation
• Enforce campus safety policies and access control procedures
• Develop and implement community safety initiatives and outreach programs

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in security management or law enforcement supervision
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage complex situations with professionalism and sound judgment
• Knowledge of security operations, emergency procedures, and crisis management
• Physical fitness and ability to perform security duties effectively
• Valid driver's license and clean background
• Commitment to serving a diverse, inclusive campus community
