Family Focus is hiring a bilingual Home Visitor (English/Spanish) to provide family education and support services in Highland Park and the Chicago and Northeast Illinois area. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll help build strong families through direct home-based work.
About the Role
You'll work as an ISBE-certified Home Visitor and Parent Educator, visiting families in their homes to provide education, coaching, and connection to critical services. This role is essential to our mission of strengthening families and supporting child development through evidence-based home visiting and family engagement.
What You'll Do
- Make regular home visits to families, building trusting relationships with parents and caregivers
- Provide parent education and coaching focused on child development and family well-being
- Connect families with resources including emergency assistance, immigration support, child welfare services, and educational programs
- Identify family strengths and needs using a strengths-based approach
- Document case notes and outcomes to track family progress
- Coordinate with community partners and internal staff to ensure families receive comprehensive support
What We're Looking For
- Fluency in English and Spanish with the ability to serve families in their preferred language
- Experience working with families in community-based, home-visiting, or family support roles
- Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work respectfully across diverse populations
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Commitment to family-centered, respectful service delivery
