EHS Specialist

About the Role

As an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist at Valmont, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the safety standards and regulatory compliance that protect our workforce and operations. This position is ideal for someone passionate about preventing workplace incidents and fostering a culture where safety is everyone's priority.

What You'll Do

• Conduct workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Develop, implement, and oversee safety training programs and awareness initiatives for all employees
• Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal environmental and safety standards
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) programs and monitor their effectiveness
• Prepare safety reports, maintain compliance documentation, and support audit activities
• Collaborate with management and staff to foster continuous improvement in workplace safety practices

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental health and safety compliance requirements
• Proven experience in an EHS role or equivalent safety responsibility
• Strong communication and training abilities—you'll educate and motivate teams across our facility
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to assess complex safety challenges and implement practical solutions
• Professional certification (such as CSP, ASP, or NEBOSH) is a plus
