About the Role
Gpac is expanding its legal team due to exceptional growth in client matters. This full-time remote position allows you to support our bankruptcy practice from anywhere while serving clients throughout North Carolina and beyond. You'll handle complex bankruptcy matters from initial consultation through resolution, working independently while collaborating with a team of experienced legal professionals.
What You'll Do
- Manage Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases from initial consultation through discharge
- Handle Chapter 11 reorganization matters for business clients
- Represent clients in Chapter 12 family farmer and rancher bankruptcies
- Serve as counsel in adversary proceedings, both as plaintiff and defendant advocate
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare motions and briefs
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to advance case objectives
- Manage substantial caseloads and ensure timely compliance with court deadlines
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience handling Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases
- Demonstrated expertise in adversary proceedings from both plaintiff and defendant perspectives
- Mid-level associate or higher level of bankruptcy law experience
- Strong legal writing and oral advocacy capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a remote environment
- Active bar license in North Carolina or eligibility to practice in the state
