Federal Solution Engineer

Lumen seeks an experienced Federal Solution Engineer to join our team in Roswell, Chaves County. In this full-time position, you'll help federal government agencies solve complex connectivity and infrastructure challenges using Lumen's extensive fiber network and advanced technology solutions.

About the Role

As a Federal Solution Engineer at Lumen, you'll bridge the gap between federal customer needs and our network capabilities. You'll design and support secure, high-performance connectivity solutions for critical government operations, working across cloud, edge, and AI infrastructure deployments. Your expertise will help agencies modernize their IT infrastructure while maintaining the security and reliability their missions demand.

What You'll Do

• Architect and recommend network and connectivity solutions tailored to federal government requirements and compliance standards
• Collaborate with federal customers to understand their operational challenges and translate them into technical solutions
• Support the sales process by providing technical guidance, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept development
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and scalability requirements specific to government operations
• Partner with internal teams to implement and optimize deployed solutions
• Stay current on federal IT trends, government compliance requirements, and emerging technologies

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in solution engineering, systems architecture, or technical sales engineering roles
• Strong understanding of federal government IT procurement, compliance frameworks, and contracting processes
• Technical expertise in networking, cloud infrastructure, or data center solutions
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical federal stakeholders
• Experience with enterprise connectivity, high-performance networks, or infrastructure solutions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple customer initiatives simultaneously
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one strongly preferred
