About the job
As a FTSE 100 company, we work in a fast-paced and agile environment, which means collaboration is vital. Our Finance community, and in particular our commercial teams, are trusted business partners that provide the insight and analysis to help the business make strategic decisions.
We’re looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our Manchester office. Reporting to the Senior Pricing Manager and working closely with the Senior Pricing Analyst, you’ll work as part of a pivotal team that underpins the commercial and strategic decisions within Auto Trader helping to drive revenue and strategic optimisation.
You will play a key role in our annual pricing strategy and review by enabling decision-making through the provision of well-thought-out analysis that considers the impacts of customer behaviours and models risks and opportunities. You’ll be able to produce analysis to prove the validity of pricing hypotheses and recommend actions as a result of the findings.
You’ll gain great exposure to all areas of the business and truly be embedded across the different product teams, partnering with them to ensure that pricing and product strategies are synchronised, and we can apply our pricing framework, the principle of value-based pricing, alongside business knowledge that you will build up.
Using your financial and data modelling skills you will be confident in offering recommendations for pricing and influencing product, sales and leadership teams to align on the optimum pricing decision.
What we’re looking for
This is a great opportunity for someone with Pricing experience looking to continue to develop their experience with a market leader. Similarly if you are a Finance Analyst (Commercial or FP&A) and would like to get some Pricing experience then we’d love to hear from you.
Overall we’re looking for someone with the following skills/experience:
- You’ll have experience in an analytical role that utilises Excel and are able to prepare data, analyse it and summarise the results.
- You will have the ability to translate complex data into digestible information that you can then clearly communicate the storytelling of data to both finance and non-finance audience.
- You’ll demonstrate your curiosity, be motivated by finding answers and will love asking questions.
- Someone who’s motivated, detail oriented and commercially minded
- Excellent communication skills – be able to summarise analysis, provide insight and convey findings to a wide variety of stakeholders across the business
- Be able to influence senior stakeholders (director level)
- Excellent Excel and Power Point skills
- Experience modelling with large, complex data sets
Although not essential, it would be great if you had exposure to any of the below:
- Experience of pulling data (we use Big Query and Looker), however this isn’t necessary for the role
- Pricing background – knows about different types of commercial models and how they can be applied
Benefits
We’re offering a salary of £35,000 – £42,500, plus an additional 10% of your salary awarded to you in shares each year. These awarded shares will become yours in yearly instalments over the next three years, and you can choose to either sell them or keep them as shares.
You’ll have 28 days holiday per year, and that’s in addition to bank holidays and half day closures on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
That’s not all. You’ll be enrolled in our pension scheme, where our standard contributions are 7% and employee contributions are 5%. We also have comprehensive private medical cover, enhanced family leave provisions, a car salary sacrifice scheme, share-save options, and much more.
We always want to give you the support you need and help prioritise your wellbeing, that’s why we provide access to 24/7 online GP and dentist, as well as specialist support for assisted fertility, gender dysphoria, menopause, period care plans and lots more.
On top of all that, our hybrid model, Connected Working, combines the best of both worlds – office and home working. You’ll spend a minimum of 3 days a week in the office with your team, focused on collaboration and connection.
