Project Manager, K-12

Suffolk Construction is hiring a Project Manager, K-12 based in Somerville, Middlesex County. In this full-time role, you'll lead construction and renovation projects serving K-12 school districts across our service area, managing budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships to deliver quality educational facilities on time and within scope.

About the Role

As Project Manager for K-12 construction projects, you're the central point of coordination from pre-construction through project closeout. You'll work directly with school administrators, facilities teams, design professionals, and trades to execute projects that serve teachers and students. This position demands strong organizational skills, cost awareness, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage day-to-day project operations, including schedule development, progress tracking, and timeline adjustments
• Monitor project budgets, control costs, and manage change orders with minimal impact to the bottom line
• Coordinate with school district stakeholders, school boards, and facility managers to ensure alignment on project goals and educational continuity
• Oversee quality control, site inspections, and compliance with applicable building codes and safety regulations
• Direct subcontractors and vendors, maintaining productive relationships and resolving issues promptly
• Prepare and communicate detailed project reports, meeting minutes, and status updates to internal teams and clients
• Support pre-construction planning, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and risk assessment

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of project management experience in construction, with K-12 or education facility projects preferred
• Proficiency in construction scheduling software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups
• Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
