Permanency Social Worker

Community Residences is hiring a full-time Permanency Social Worker in Newington, Hartford County. This position plays a vital role in supporting families and children in the child welfare system through supervised visitation and permanency planning services.

About the Role

As a Permanency Social Worker at Community Residences, you'll provide direct, hands-on support to families navigating the child welfare system. Your work centers on facilitating meaningful visits between children and their families while ensuring safety and promoting healthy reunification or alternative permanency outcomes. You'll work primarily with referrals from the Connecticut Department of Children and Family Services (DCF), building trust with families and documenting progress toward permanency goals.

What You'll Do

• Conduct face-to-face supervised visits between children and their families
• Manage supervised visitation sessions to support family connections while maintaining child safety
• Monitor and assess family interactions during visits, documenting observations and progress
• Work with DCF referrals to align visitation plans with permanency objectives
• Facilitate active engagement of children and families during visits
• Coordinate with case managers, social workers, and other professionals to support reunification and permanency planning
• Maintain detailed visit records and documentation
