Project Engineer – Power

Project Engineer - Power at TIC - The Industrial Company in Monroe, Ouachita Parish invites skilled engineers to support power‑market construction projects from planning through field execution.

About the Role

This full‑time position sits within the Power District’s Field Operations team, delivering technical support for transmission, substation, and renewable energy builds. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary crews, help translate design documents into actionable field instructions, and monitor progress to keep schedules and budgets on track.

What You'll Do

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify potential field issues before work begins.
• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, change orders, and RFIs for project stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and utility partners to facilitate material deliveries and work sequencing.
• Assist in developing construction sequencing plans and temporary works designs.
• Track labor, equipment, and material usage to support accurate cost forecasting and invoicing.
• Participate in weekly project meetings, providing updates on status, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Ensure all documentation is filed correctly in the project control system for easy retrieval and audit readiness.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or equivalent field experience).
• Minimum two years of engineering experience in power, utility, or heavy civil construction environments.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), OSHA regulations, and industry‑specific safety practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling and drafting tools.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
• Effective communication abilities for interacting with field crews, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the region and occasionally stay overnight as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach various job locations.
