Kitchen Designer

Home Depot is seeking a Kitchen Designer to join the team in Tustin, Orange County, where you’ll help customers envision and create their ideal kitchen and bath spaces.

About the Role

This full‑time position places you at the heart of the store’s design center, working directly with homeowners, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts to transform remodeling ideas into practical plans. You’ll leverage product knowledge and design tools to guide customers through every step of the selection process, from concept to final purchase.

What You'll Do

• Welcome customers, assess their renovation goals, and ask probing questions to uncover functional and aesthetic preferences.
• Present “good, better, best” solutions using the latest kitchen and bath collections, providing physical samples and digital renderings.
• Explain product features, installation requirements, and service options to help shoppers make informed decisions.
• Maintain an organized showroom, ensuring displays are current, clean, and reflective of promotional merchandise.
• Process orders accurately, coordinate with the installation team, and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
• Stay current with design trends, attend vendor training, and participate in store‑level merchandising initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in kitchen or bath design, retail sales, or a related home‑improvement field.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen actively and translate customer needs into design recommendations.
• Proficiency with design software (such as 2020 Design, SketchUp, or similar) and comfort learning new tools quickly.
• Knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, appliances, flooring, and plumbing fixtures commonly offered at Home Depot.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in interior design or architecture is a plus.
• A passion for helping people improve their living spaces and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
