Citizens is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join its team in Johnston, Providence County, where you will support the bank’s legal functions on a full‑time basis.
About the Role
In this position you will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to ensure that the bank’s contractual and financial agreements are accurate, compliant, and protected against risk. Your contributions help Citizens execute sound legal arrangements that enable its core business activities.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough legal research on banking regulations, financial products, and related statutes.
- Review, analyze, and edit contracts, loan agreements, securities documents, and other financial instruments.
- Assist in drafting terms and conditions that mitigate risk while supporting business objectives.
- Prepare and organize legal documentation for attorney review, including exhibits, affidavits, and filing packages.
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines for internal and external legal matters.
- Provide administrative support to the legal department, such as scheduling meetings and tracking correspondence.
What We're Looking For
- ABA‑approved paralegal certificate, associate’s degree in paralegal studies, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience reviewing and editing legal contracts, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory language.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented setting.
