Bayland Buildings, Inc. is hiring a Field Fabricator-Welder (Agristeel) to join its team in Oshkosh.
About the Role
As a Field Fabricator-Welder with the AgriSteel division, you will travel to project sites in Green Bay and surrounding communities to fabricate and install structural steel components. The position offers full‑time, year‑round employment with competitive compensation and benefits, and you will become part of an employee‑owned organization.
What You'll Do
- Interpret construction drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine material requirements
- Measure, cut, and prepare steel plates, beams, and tubing using saws, shears, and plasma cutters
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various joint configurations according to code standards
- Assemble and fit fabricated components, ensuring proper alignment and fit‑up before final welding
- Conduct visual inspections and perform non‑destructive testing to verify weld quality
- Maintain welding equipment, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues
- Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and keep work areas clean and organized
- Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and fellow tradespeople to meet schedules
- Complete daily logs, material usage reports, and any required documentation
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in structural steel or agricultural building projects
- Valid welding certification (AWS D1.1 or equivalent) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding machinery
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to various job sites
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, work in varied weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new fabrication techniques as needed
