Construction Scheduler

POLK Mechanical is seeking a Full-Time Construction Scheduler to join its team in Grand Prairie, Dallas.

About the Role

In this position you will create and maintain accurate project timelines that keep mechanical construction projects on track from start to finish.

What You'll Do

• Develop baseline and updated schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring all activities are sequenced correctly.
• Track progress against the plan, pinpoint critical path items, and suggest corrective or recovery measures when variances occur.
• Carry out Time Impact Analyses (TIA), assemble fragnets, and draft schedule narratives that justify delay claims or change orders.
• Produce resource‑loaded and cost‑loaded schedules, integrating manpower, equipment, and material forecasts.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field crews to gather input and keep stakeholders informed of schedule status.
• Perform regular schedule updates, incorporate change orders, and maintain a historical record of revisions.
• Assist in preparing monthly progress reports and presentations for client meetings.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a construction scheduler, preferably in mechanical or HVAC projects.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools.
• Strong understanding of critical path method, float analysis, and schedule risk assessment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Effective communication abilities, comfortable presenting schedule data to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States; relocation assistance may be considered for qualified candidates.
