UCHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full‑time night shift position on the 3 East Internal Medicine Unit at Memorial Hospital Central in Stratmoor Hills, El Paso County.
About the Role
This position supports a busy internal medicine floor where nurses provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions. Working a 0.9 FTE schedule, the RN will be part of a collaborative team that delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care during nighttime hours.
What You'll Do
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs throughout the shift
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
- Develop and update individualized care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge instructions, and self‑care strategies
- Document all nursing activities accurately in the electronic health record
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions
- Participate in shift handoffs, quality improvement initiatives, and unit‑based meetings
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
What We're Looking For
- Active, unrestricted RN license in good standing with the Colorado Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred
- Recent experience in acute care, medical‑surgical, or internal medicine settings
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and patient education
- Comfort working night shifts and adapting to a fast‑paced, evolving clinical environment
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care
