About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Staff Mobile Engineer to join our Mobile Infrastructure team, the foundational engineering group that powers the OKX app for millions of daily active users. This is not a feature delivery role. You will work at the platform layer, building the tools, frameworks, and systems that enable product engineering teams to move faster, ship higher quality code, and scale reliably.

You are deeply native in either iOS or Android, and confident contributing across both platforms leveraging AI coding tools to move fluidly between stacks. You care about engineering quality at the foundation level: architecture, performance, toolchain, and developer experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain mobile infrastructure, tooling, and shared frameworks that improve engineering efficiency and developer experience across the organisation.
  • Analyse and optimise application code at the UI and infrastructure layer, including memory footprint, package size, startup time, and rendering performance.
  • Design and develop reusable, scalable mobile components for use across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to deliver infrastructure solutions, establish best practices, and drive technical standards.
  • Drive architecture innovations that support world-class mobile app development at scale.
  • Optimise project structure and engineering workflows to improve productivity, quality, and release velocity.
  • Apply AI coding tools to accelerate infrastructure development, improve code quality, and cross-translate solutions across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Stay current with mobile platform developments and emerging toolchain innovations, evaluating and adopting what moves the needle.

What We Look For In You

  • 6+ years of native iOS or Android development experience, with a strong track record in infrastructure, platform, or architecture work.
  • Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift/Objective-C/C++) or Android (Kotlin/Java, Jetpack), with confidence contributing across both platforms.
  • Actively uses AI tools in your engineering workflow — including building AI-leveraged workflows, curating domain knowledge bases, and codifying repeatable agent skills so tools like Claude Code or Codex deliver reliably on real production work.
  • Proven experience optimising app performance — memory, package size, startup time, and UI rendering — in production environments at scale.
  • Deep understanding of design patterns, architectural principles, and the mobile SDK layer for building scalable, high-performance components.
  • Working knowledge of remote APIs, concurrency, layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and mobile architectural patterns.
  • Strong communication skills — comfortable collaborating across global teams and delivering large-scale engineering outcomes independently.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience working in a dedicated mobile architecture or infrastructure team with deep platform specialisation.
  • Hands-on experience across performance optimisation, toolchain engineering, automated testing frameworks, or design pattern standardisation.
  • Experience working across both iOS and Android in a production infrastructure context.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
  • Experience in fintech, crypto, or other high-scale consumer app environments.
