We’re looking for a talented Ad Policy Specialist who expects more from their career. Sitting within the Tesco Media Operations team, this role operates at the intersection of advertising policy, risk management, and operational delivery.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that all advertising activity meets UK regulatory standards while enabling innovation and growth across our media offering. Acting as a subject matter expert, you’ll partner with teams across the business to provide guidance, shape policy frameworks, and support responsible, effective advertising.
This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly influence how campaigns are delivered to millions of customers.
What you’ll be working on

Develop and maintain ad policy frameworks aligned with UK advertising regulations, including CAP Code and LHF/HFSS requirements

Provide expert guidance on complex or high-risk advertising decisions, balancing compliance with commercial outcomes

Partner with Sales, Operations, Product, and Legal teams to ensure policies are clearly understood and consistently applied

Create and deliver training materials and documentation to support internal teams and external stakeholders

Review and assess campaign risks, supporting escalations and offering clear recommendations

Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends, translating them into actionable policy updates

Use data and insights to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in policy and processes

Support innovation in media products by embedding compliant and scalable policy approaches

Champion best practice in governance and risk management, ensuring brand integrity and customer trust
What we’re looking for

Strong understanding of UK advertising regulations and digital ad policy (e.g. CAP Code, ASA guidelines)

Experience working within digital advertising, retail media, marketplaces, or publisher environments

Background in policy, governance, risk, compliance, or trust & safety functions

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex scenarios and make sound decisions

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain policy clearly to a range of audiences

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities

Proven ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments

Experience supporting product or engineering teams

Background in retail media, ecommerce, or marketplace ecosystems

Experience creating training and enablement materials
