Mechanical Superintendent – Kiewit Power Constructors

Join Kiewit Power Constructors as a Mechanical Superintendent overseeing critical equipment installation and assembly operations at our Pittsburgh, Allegheny County project site. This is a full-time supervisory role where you'll lead field teams through complex mechanical construction work in the power generation sector.

About the Role

As Mechanical Superintendent, you'll direct the hands-on assembly, installation, and commissioning of heavy mechanical equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, pumps, compressors, and associated systems. Your expertise ensures work meets specifications, safety standards, and project timelines in a fast-paced power construction environment.

What You'll Do

• Supervise field crews performing equipment assembly, rigging, alignment, and installation
• Coordinate mechanical work activities with project management and other trades
• Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce compliance with site safety protocols
• Inspect completed work and verify conformance to design drawings and specifications
• Manage scheduling, labor allocation, and resource requirements for mechanical scope
• Document progress, track punch lists, and communicate status to project leadership
• Troubleshoot field challenges and implement solutions to keep work advancing

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience supervising mechanical construction, preferably in power plant or heavy industrial settings
• Deep knowledge of turbine systems, centrifugal pumps, compressors, and associated mechanical equipment
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, equipment specifications, and construction best practices
• Leadership experience managing field teams and coordinating multi-trade operations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in fast-moving project environments
• Valid driver's license and ability to work full-time on-site in Pittsburgh
• Physical capability to work in industrial construction settings
