Dudek is hiring an As-Needed Archaeological Field Technician in Portland, Multnomah County, for cultural resource management projects across the Pacific Northwest. This is a flexible, part-time field position with periodic work opportunities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

About the Role

Dudek seeks experienced field technicians for periodic archaeological projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. As an as-needed team member, you'll work on flexible engagements supporting site investigations and cultural heritage documentation.

What You'll Do

• Conduct systematic excavation, surface surveys, and test probing at archaeological sites
• Document features through detailed field notes, sketches, and site photography
• Collect, catalog, and process artifacts according to professional standards
• Maintain accurate site records and perform data entry
• Establish and monitor excavation grids and stratigraphic levels
• Work collaboratively with project directors and fellow technicians
• Adhere to archaeological best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in archaeological fieldwork and excavation methods
• Proficiency with field documentation and data recording
• Physical capability to work outdoors in varying conditions for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping standards
• Team collaboration and independent work skills
• Valid driver's license and personal transportation for variable field locations
