Safety Manager

About the Role

The Safety Manager position is central to establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture at our Hagerstown location. You'll own the development and execution of safety programs, oversee health and environmental compliance, and partner with leadership to achieve measurable safety outcomes while supporting ABM's national and regional strategic objectives.

What You'll Do

• Design, establish, and maintain comprehensive safety protocols and environmental health procedures that meet ABM standards
• Lead safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety performance and incident prevention
• Conduct safety assessments, audits, hazard analyses, and risk evaluations to identify gaps and implement corrective actions
• Develop and deliver employee training programs on safety practices, emergency response, and regulatory compliance
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, document findings, and establish preventive measures to reduce future occurrences
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations and environmental standards
• Collaborate with regional and national teams to align local operations with enterprise-wide safety strategies and best practices
• Build collaborative relationships with employees, contractors, suppliers, and external safety partners

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in safety management, occupational health and safety, or related supervisory roles
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, workplace safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence across all organizational levels
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and strategic priorities in a dynamic environment
• Professional safety certifications such as CSP, OHST, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
