California Teaching Fellows Foundation
Join California Teaching Fellows Foundation as a Part-Time Morning Tutor this fall, serving Madera County students from Pinedale, Fresno County. You'll provide direct academic support during critical morning learning hours, helping students build strong foundational skills.
About the Role
This part-time morning tutoring position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a direct impact on student achievement. You'll work with students across Chawanakee Unified School District and Madera Unified School District, delivering targeted instruction tailored to individual learning needs.
What You'll Do
- Assess student strengths and gaps in reading, mathematics, and foundational academic skills
- Deliver engaging small-group and one-on-one instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning styles and individual pace
- Track student progress and communicate updates to classroom teachers and families
- Work collaboratively with school staff to reinforce and extend classroom learning
- Create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel confident and motivated
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of elementary or middle school subjects including reading, mathematics, and language arts
- Experience working with K-8 students in tutoring or educational support roles
- Excellent communication skills with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to adapt instruction and remain patient with varying learning paces and styles
- Genuine commitment to helping students overcome academic challenges and succeed
- Consistent availability for morning hours, Monday through Friday
Compensation and Hours
Tutors earn $23.00 per hour. Candidates with fewer than five-day weekly availability may be considered for substitute tutor positions at $18.00 per hour.
