About the Role
Ryder is expanding its local transportation fleet and seeking experienced CDL-A drivers to handle regional delivery operations from our Walton, Lee County terminal. As a Local CDL-A Truck Driver, you'll operate a commercial vehicle on established local routes, returning home each day while earning consistent, stable income.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial truck on assigned local routes, prioritizing safety and on-time delivery
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document maintenance needs
- Load, secure, and transport freight according to DOT regulations and company standards
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records
- Communicate with dispatch and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of professional truck driving experience
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to regulatory compliance
- Reliable, professional communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to vehicle maintenance
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay at $30.00 per hour
- Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week
- $2,000 sign-on bonus (paid in phases: $1,000 at 30 days, $1,000 at 90 days)
