Soliant Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive health services in a school setting in Lancaster, Erie County, New York. This is a full-time position focused on supporting student wellness and safety in an educational environment.
About the Role
As a school nurse, you'll be the primary healthcare professional on campus, responsible for managing the health and medical needs of students throughout the school day. You'll work independently and collaboratively with educators, administrators, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure students receive appropriate care and can fully participate in their education.
What You'll Do
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and health histories for students
- Manage and administer medications according to physician orders and school policies
- Respond to acute student illnesses and injuries with appropriate first aid and triage
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with chronic health conditions
- Educate students, staff, and families about health promotion and disease prevention
- Maintain detailed health records and documentation in compliance with regulations
- Communicate with parents regarding student health concerns and updates
- Coordinate with school personnel to accommodate students with special health needs
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response protocols
What We're Looking For
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience, ideally in school health or pediatrics
- Strong knowledge of health assessment, disease management, and emergency care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to confidentiality and student advocacy
- CPR and BLS certification (or ability to obtain)
