Clean Harbors is hiring a TDG Tank Inspector to join our Saint Bernard, Hamilton County team. In this full-time role, you'll conduct critical inspections and testing of specialized transport tanks used in hazardous materials operations, ensuring every vessel meets our rigorous safety standards.
About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated professional to perform comprehensive visual, internal, pressure, and leak tests on truck-mounted tanks and certified hazardous material transport equipment. This position combines technical hands-on work with meticulous documentation and quality assurance, keeping our fleet compliant with all regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Conduct visual, internal, pressure, and leak tests on truck-mounted tank units
- Inspect certified hazardous material transport vessels including vacuum trucks, hydro excavators, oil tankers, guzzlers, and tanker trailers
- Document inspection results and maintain detailed compliance records
- Identify defects, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements
- Communicate findings to maintenance and operations teams
- Ensure all work adheres to transportation safety regulations and company standards
What We're Looking For
- HM183 Tank Inspector certification or equivalent hazardous materials inspection credentials
- Demonstrated experience inspecting specialized transport tanks
- Working knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and DOT compliance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
- Valid driver's license
