The Federal Bureau of Investigation is hiring a Special Agent for its Kansas City, Jackson County field office. This is a full-time, permanent federal position open to all U.S. citizens who are willing to serve in a demanding law enforcement and intelligence role.
About the Role
As a Special Agent, you will serve at the GL-10 classification level with a Full Performance Level of GS-13. This position requires a minimum of 50 hours per week and demands a Top Secret security clearance. The role is exempt from the current federal civilian hiring freeze, representing a stable career opportunity in federal service.
What You'll Do
- Lead federal criminal investigations and intelligence operations within assigned jurisdiction
- Collect and analyze evidence while maintaining strict chain of custody protocols
- Conduct witness interviews and develop investigative leads
- Work alongside federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and case documentation
- Adapt quickly to emerging threats and shifting priorities
- Travel as required and work irregular hours including on-call assignments

Compensation
