Join MedStar Health as a Clinical Dietitian I in North Bethesda, Montgomery County, where you'll deliver evidence-based nutritional care to inpatient populations with complex medical needs. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy while supporting patient recovery and wellness as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
About the Role
As a Clinical Dietitian I at MedStar Health, you'll assess nutritional status, develop individualized nutrition interventions, and educate patients on dietary modifications that support their clinical outcomes. You'll work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize nutrition support across diverse medical diagnoses.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive malnutrition risk assessments and nutrition-focused physical examinations for inpatients
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition support recommendations based on clinical assessment
- Deliver patient and family education on therapeutic diets and nutrition management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition care into treatment plans
- Document nutrition assessment, interventions, and outcomes in medical records
- Ensure all clinical practice meets applicable regulations and quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- Current Maryland dietetics licensure
- Clinical nutrition experience, preferably in acute care settings
- Strong patient communication and education skills
- Clinical judgment and ability to work effectively within healthcare teams
- Commitment to evidence-based nutrition practice
