About the Role
As Assistant to General Counsel, you'll be the trusted right hand to our General Counsel, managing the legal operational backbone of Independence Title. You'll combine legal acumen with administrative excellence, ensuring our legal team operates smoothly while advancing our mission to streamline real estate transactions.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to the General Counsel and legal team
- Assist with legal document preparation, review, and management
- Conduct legal research on regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters
- Maintain legal files, records, and documentation systems
- Draft legal correspondence and communications as directed
- Support compliance initiatives and regulatory requirements in the title and settlement industry
- Coordinate legal meetings, schedules, and administrative operations
- Assist with contract review and vendor management documentation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (law degree preferred; relevant paralegal or legal experience acceptable)
- Strong writing, research, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of real estate law, title insurance, or settlement processes (or willingness to learn)
- Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Discretion and professional judgment with sensitive legal matters
