About the Role
This full-time position leads post-anesthesia care and patient transitions in a dynamic recovery program. As a PACU Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you'll work within an organization that invests in advanced care technologies and evidence-based programs, coordinating seamless recovery experiences while supporting surgical and anesthesia teams in delivering excellent patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and assess patients during post-operative recovery, tracking vital signs, pain levels, and clinical progression
- Manage care transitions from operating rooms through discharge, ensuring patients receive appropriate next-level care
- Coordinate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to optimize recovery protocols
- Implement pain management strategies and post-operative therapies as prescribed
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and post-operative self-care
- Document clinical assessments and maintain accuracy in patient records
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including programs designed to improve surgical recovery outcomes and minimize unnecessary opioid use
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license
- ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)
- Preferred PACU or acute care nursing experience
- Exceptional clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Dedication to evidence-based nursing practice and patient safety
