GovCIO seeks a VistA Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Tier 2 Support to lead advanced troubleshooting and system administration for critical healthcare IT systems. This is a remote, full-time position based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, supporting mission-critical infrastructure for government agencies.
About the Role
As a Tier 2 Support specialist, you'll take ownership of escalated technical issues and drive resolution using your deep expertise in VistA application administration. You'll provide strategic system guidance, perform complex diagnostics, and implement solutions that keep essential government health systems operational. This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and stakeholder impact—your work directly supports operational continuity for critical services.
What You'll Do
- Investigate and resolve Tier 2 escalations from frontline support teams, applying advanced system knowledge to complex technical problems
- Administer and optimize VistA application environments, ensuring performance and reliability across mission-critical deployments
- Serve as an internal technical resource, documenting solutions and sharing expertise with support teams and stakeholders
- Collaborate with system architects and infrastructure teams to address root causes and prevent recurring issues
- Maintain detailed records of technical incidents and resolutions to support continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Extensive hands-on experience administering VistA systems or similar healthcare IT platforms
- Proven troubleshooting expertise in complex, mission-critical IT environments
- Strong technical foundation in application administration, system architecture, and IT operations
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Eligibility for US Suitability/Public Trust clearance or existing clearance
- Professional experience in government, healthcare IT, or both is highly valued
