Join the Department of Art and Design at University of Tampa as a part-time live art model for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is an in-person, on-campus position in Tampa, Hillsborough County, supporting our students' artistic development through life drawing and figure study courses.
About the Role
The University of Tampa is seeking experienced and professional live models to pose for drawing, painting, sculpture, and anatomy classes. You'll work directly with our faculty and students in the College of Arts and Letters, helping to create authentic learning experiences in figure drawing and human form studies. This role is essential to art education, allowing students to study proportion, movement, and the human figure under professional conditions.
What You'll Do
- Assume poses for extended periods during scheduled class sessions, following artist and instructor direction
- Maintain professional composure and consistency while holding positions for drawing and painting assignments
- Collaborate with art faculty to understand pose requirements, duration, and transitions between positions
- Support various media and study styles, including quick gesture poses and longer sustained positions
- Arrive on time and ready for scheduled modeling sessions throughout the academic year
What We're Looking For
- Physical ability to hold poses for extended periods (typically 15-45 minutes per pose)
- Comfort and professionalism posing for art classes in an academic environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled sessions
- Professional demeanor and ability to take direction from instructors
- Prior modeling or pose experience preferred but not required
- Flexibility to accommodate a range of poses and classroom needs
