Join HDI Global Insurance Company as an Energy Construction and Renewables Executive Underwriter in Houston, Texas. In this full-time role, you'll evaluate and underwrite complex commercial property and casualty risks for major energy construction and renewable energy projects across North America.

About the Role

As an Executive Underwriter specializing in energy construction and renewables, you'll lead underwriting decisions on sophisticated industrial risk exposures. You'll work directly with development teams, contractors, and energy companies to structure coverage for construction projects, renewable installations, and energy infrastructure initiatives. This position requires both technical expertise in energy sector risks and the authority to make high-value underwriting decisions.

What You'll Do

• Underwrite and approve commercial property and casualty policies for energy construction and renewable energy projects
• Evaluate risk profiles for major industrial construction initiatives, including wind, solar, and traditional energy projects
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, contractors, and energy industry clients across the region
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to inform underwriting decisions
• Lead underwriting discussions on complex or non-standard submissions
• Stay current with energy sector trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in renewable energy development

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience as an underwriter in energy, construction, or industrial lines insurance
• Deep knowledge of energy construction risks, renewable energy projects, and industrial property exposures
• Proven ability to evaluate and price complex, high-value commercial risks
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the maturity to exercise underwriting authority
• Excellent communication skills for working with brokers, clients, and internal teams
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Insurance industry designations such as CPCU or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter preferred
