Monash University is seeking an Indigenous Research Project Manager at our Clayton, Johnston County campus. This full-time, continuing appointment position is open to Indigenous applicants and offers a meaningful opportunity to advance Indigenous research initiatives at one of the world's leading research institutions.

About the Role

This identified role is specifically designed for Indigenous professionals. You will lead coordination and management of Indigenous-focused research projects and partnerships, supporting ethical, community-engaged research practices that center Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and collaboration.

What You'll Do

  • Manage research projects that advance Indigenous scholarship and community-engaged research
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery
  • Build and maintain relationships with research teams, Indigenous community partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Support research practices that respect Indigenous intellectual property rights and community governance
  • Contribute to research proposal development and grant application processes
  • Track project progress and produce reports for research leadership and funding bodies
  • Identify opportunities to expand Indigenous research capacity and strengthen institutional partnerships

What We're Looking For

  • Indigenous background (this role is open to Indigenous applicants)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, research coordination, or related professional areas
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous research ethics, methodologies, and community engagement approaches
  • Ability to work collaboratively across university departments and external partners
  • Proficiency with project management systems and reporting tools

Compensation

This position offers remuneration at HEW Level 8, $124,343 to $137,251 annually, plus 17% superannuation, as a continuing appointment.
