About the Role
As a Cook in our Nutrition Services department, you'll play a vital role in providing meals that meet both clinical and residential needs. Working within a dedicated culinary team, you'll contribute to patient nutrition and wellness through skilled food preparation and service.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of meals according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
- Plate and present dishes to meet nutritional and aesthetic standards
- Review production sheets and daily menus to understand meal requirements and special dietary needs
- Assemble and organize food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment for efficient daily operations
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in all food handling and preparation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Support meal service activities as part of the Nutrition Services team
- Work scheduled hours and follow established kitchen procedures and protocols
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional experience in food preparation and cooking in a kitchen setting
- Strong understanding of food safety and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift regularly
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and commitment to scheduled hours
