Clean Harbors is hiring a CleanPack Chemist for our Carson, Los Angeles County location, with CDL school sponsorship available. This full-time position is ideal for environmental professionals ready to safely handle hazardous chemical waste and advance their career in environmental management.
About the Role
As a CleanPack Chemist with Clean Harbors, you'll work Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with substantial overtime opportunities available. You'll handle, segregate, pack, and inspect hazardous chemical waste at customer sites and industrial facilities across the region. This role requires strict compliance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations and operates both indoors and outdoors at various plant and laboratory environments.
What You'll Do
- Handle and properly segregate hazardous chemical waste according to regulatory standards
- Pack chemical materials in approved containers for safe transport and storage
- Inspect waste streams for proper classification and material compatibility
- Document all waste handling activities in compliance with environmental requirements
- Work at customer sites across multiple industries and facility types
- Maintain strict safety protocols in both indoor and outdoor work environments
What We're Looking For
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one with our sponsorship program
- Knowledge of hazardous waste classification and environmental regulations
- Ability to maintain a consistent early-morning schedule (5:00 AM start time)
- Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to safety
- Physical capability to perform field work and material handling tasks
- Prior experience in environmental, chemical, or industrial waste management (preferred)
