Field HR Manager

About the Role

As Field HR Manager at this Kiewit location, you are the primary HR leader for your project site, responsible for the complete spectrum of employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. You'll build and maintain a high-performing workforce while ensuring every team member understands safety protocols, company policies, and career development opportunities. Your decisions impact workplace culture, retention, and project success directly.

What You'll Do

• Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for field personnel across multiple job classifications
• Handle employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and performance management with consistency and fairness
• Champion safety culture and ensure compliance with labor regulations, company policies, and industry standards
• Coordinate benefits administration, payroll support, and records management for your site
• Develop and retain talent through mentoring, training coordination, and career pathing conversations
• Partner with project management and operations teams to align workforce planning with project schedules and goals
• Serve as the trusted HR counselor and advocate for both employees and the company

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; SHRM certification preferred
• 3+ years of HR management experience, ideally in construction, engineering, or capital projects
• Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate across all organizational levels
• Self-directed problem-solver who thrives in remote field environments with limited HR support infrastructure
• Proficiency with HR information systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
