Med Surg Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Mission Hospital is seeking a Med Surg Clinical Nurse Coordinator in Lenoir Rhyne, North Carolina to lead clinical operations within our medical-surgical nursing department. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive patient care coordination while working alongside a healthcare team committed to evidence-based practice and superior clinical outcomes.

About the Role

As our Med Surg Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you'll serve as a clinical leader who bridges bedside nursing and operational excellence. You'll orchestrate care delivery across medical-surgical units, support nursing staff, and ensure seamless coordination between departments. Your focus will be on advancing patient outcomes while optimizing workflows and maintaining the highest standards of care delivery.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate patient care pathways for medical-surgical patients, partnering with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
• Guide and support nursing staff on clinical protocols, care standards, and workflow optimization
• Facilitate communication and care coordination among departments to ensure continuity and smooth patient transitions
• Champion clinical initiatives, including our Enhanced Surgical Recovery program that reduces opioid dependence through evidence-based interventions
• Contribute to quality and safety efforts, leveraging our rapid stroke response capabilities and advanced sepsis detection technology
• Manage patient scheduling, bed coordination, and unit capacity planning for medical-surgical services
• Monitor clinical outcomes and support continuous improvement across your department

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license (North Carolina)
• Clinical background in medical-surgical nursing or related inpatient specialty
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize competing demands
• Leadership capability and proven ability to work effectively across departments
• Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation platforms
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
