About the Role

As a Project Estimator, you translate project scope into clear, defensible financial forecasts. You'll prepare capital and service cost estimates across WM's diverse industrial waste portfolio, from specialized equipment deployment and in-plant labor support to core waste management services, third-party solutions, and customer sustainability initiatives. Your estimates—whether conceptual sketches early in the sales cycle or detailed analyses supporting implementation—are the foundation that wins projects and ensures execution success.

What You'll Do

• Develop general and discipline-specific cost estimates for capital investments and service delivery across industrial waste applications
• Build conceptual estimates to guide project scoping and validate pricing strategy
• Perform cost analysis and financial modeling, synthesizing operational data to produce accurate projections
• Present estimates and cost breakdowns to internal stakeholders and customers, addressing questions and incorporating feedback
• Support sustainability program estimating, helping clients quantify the financial return of waste reduction and recycling investments
• Stay current on pricing, labor rates, equipment costs, and operational variables affecting industrial waste service delivery

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience developing estimates in industrial, manufacturing, waste management, or environmental services settings
• Strong quantitative skills: comfortable with cost analysis, financial data, and building reliable projections
• Ability to explain complex cost structures clearly to diverse audiences—operations teams, sales, and customers alike
• Experience collaborating across functions (operations, engineering, sales) to refine and validate estimates
• Meticulous attention to detail and solid grasp of project fundamentals
• Background in waste management, sustainability, or industrial services is valued
