Humana is hiring a Medical Coder in Ark, Gloucester County for a full-time position. In this role, you'll strengthen healthcare quality by partnering with providers to enhance clinical documentation practices and coding accuracy across our network.
About the Role
As a Medical Coder, you'll work directly with healthcare providers to improve the accuracy and completeness of their medical documentation. Reporting to the Manager of Medicare Risk Adjustment, you'll design and deliver targeted education programs that help providers understand best practices in medical coding and clinical documentation. Your expertise will have a direct impact on the quality of care information captured in medical records.
What You'll Do
- Develop customized education plans for assigned providers based on documentation gaps and coding opportunities
- Conduct educational sessions with providers focused on quality of care and documentation accuracy
- Review clinical records to identify opportunities for improved documentation practices
- Deliver training on medical coding standards and compliance requirements
- Monitor provider progress and refine education strategies based on performance
- Support providers in implementing coding best practices and maintaining compliance
What We're Looking For
- Medical coding certification or equivalent professional experience in healthcare coding
- Strong knowledge of medical coding standards and healthcare regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to teach and explain complex coding concepts clearly
- Experience managing multiple provider relationships independently
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
