Customer Service – Self Storage Manager

Public Storage is hiring a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager for our Long Island City, Queens location. In this full-time role, you'll be the driving force behind customer satisfaction and day-to-day operations at our storage facility, managing both customer interactions and property management responsibilities.

About the Role

As a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager, you'll lead operations at our Long Island City, Queens facility, balancing direct customer engagement with property management. You'll work independently while overseeing multiple facility locations, handling everything from customer service to operational oversight. This position requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage diverse responsibilities both indoors and outdoors.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers, assess their storage needs, and recommend appropriate storage solutions and unit sizes
• Process leases, address customer inquiries, and resolve issues with professionalism and efficiency
• Sell packing supplies, moving boxes, and related merchandise to enhance customer experience
• Conduct daily inspections of storage units and facility grounds to verify inventory, confirm unit availability, and maintain operational standards
• Manage cash transactions, audit cash drawers at shift end, and prepare daily bank deposits
• Monitor facility security, respond to tenant needs, and ensure all units remain properly secured
• Maintain accurate records of unit occupancy, leases, and facility operations

• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with diverse clients
• Independent, detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple responsibilities
• Comfortable handling cash and processing financial transactions
• Physical ability to walk facility grounds and inspect units regularly
• Organized approach to tracking inventory, leases, and operational tasks
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors as part of daily duties
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
