About the Role

As a CPS In-Home Services Specialist, you'll deliver critical assessment and support services directly within family homes. You'll evaluate family situations, identify child safety concerns and strengths, and help connect families with resources and services that promote stability and well-being. Your professional judgment and compassionate approach will contribute to protecting vulnerable children while supporting family preservation.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough in-home assessments and evaluations of family circumstances and child welfare concerns
• Document findings, observations, and recommendations with accuracy and professional detail
• Collaborate with social workers, caseworkers, and other child protective services staff
• Identify and connect families with community-based support services and resources
• Maintain secure case records in compliance with county and state regulations
• Communicate professionally with families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Genuine commitment to child safety and family-centered approaches
• Experience working with families, youth, or vulnerable populations (preferred)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-home visits throughout Loudoun County
• Willingness to complete background screening and required certifications
