Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager – Mining Team

ICF is hiring a Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager for a full-time role leading critical environmental and compliance initiatives for our mining operations across the Mountain West region, based in Phoenix, Arizona. About the Role

As Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager, you'll oversee end-to-end environmental planning and project delivery for mining operations throughout Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll combine strategic planning with day-to-day project management to ensure compliance, efficiency, and environmental stewardship across all phases of mining operations.

What You'll Do

• Manage federal and state environmental permitting processes, including coordination with regulatory agencies and technical documentation
• Develop and implement environmental management plans aligned with mining operations and regulatory requirements
• Lead environmental assessments, baseline studies, and impact evaluations for mining projects
• Oversee compliance monitoring, reporting, and adaptive management strategies
• Coordinate with project teams, environmental specialists, and stakeholders to ensure environmental objectives are met
• Prepare technical reports, environmental plans, and regulatory submissions
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while maintaining quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 10+ years of environmental planning or project management experience in mining or related extractive industries
• Expertise in federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, NEPA, state mining laws)
• Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver complex, multi-phase projects
• Experience with environmental permitting, baseline assessments, and impact mitigation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage relationships with regulators, clients, and internal teams
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or related field
• Professional license or certification in environmental planning or project management a plus
