School Services – School Special Education Teacher

ESS Clinical is hiring a Full-Time School Special Education Teacher for an immediate opening in Kansas City, Kansas. This is a local contract position offering $50 per hour with a start date of August 10, 2026, providing job security and consistent income for the academic year.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our School Services team in Platte County. You'll work in a school setting supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, behavioral support, and collaborative service delivery. This full-time contract role runs for 36 weeks during the school year, giving you stability and predictable scheduling.

What You'll Do

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies based on learning outcomes
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, and support staff
• Implement evidence-based interventions for students with learning disabilities and developmental delays
• Maintain detailed student records and communicate regularly with families
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to special education planning
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth

What We're Looking For

• Valid special education teaching license or certification for Kansas
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Experience working with students across K-12, including early childhood
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy
• Ability to manage diverse classroom behaviors and support social-emotional learning
