Join Aledo Independent School District as a Student Clinical Teacher for the Fall 2026-27 school year. This full-time clinical teaching placement is designed for university students and Alternative Certification Program candidates ready to gain hands-on classroom experience under the mentorship of experienced educators in our Texas school community.
About the Role
As a student clinical teacher with Aledo ISD, you'll work directly in classroom settings to develop your professional teaching skills while supporting student learning. This is an immersive practicum experience where you'll transition from observation to active instruction, building confidence and competency in real educational environments alongside a cooperating teacher mentor.
What You'll Do
- Observe and participate in daily classroom instruction across various grade levels and subject areas
- Co-plan and deliver lessons under your mentor teacher's guidance and feedback
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations
- Manage classroom routines, materials, and student interactions
- Communicate with students, families, and school staff professionally
- Reflect on teaching practice and implement continuous improvement strategies
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and campus initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Current enrollment in an approved university teacher preparation program or Alternative Certification Program
- Completion of prerequisite coursework as required by your certification program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for working with K-12 students
- Commitment to educational excellence and continuous learning
- Ability to follow school policies and work collaboratively with staff
