Risk Underwriter

About the Role

The Risk Underwriter role at Veritiv focuses on assessing creditworthiness and managing credit risk for our commercial customer base. You'll analyze applications, review credit reports, and evaluate financial data to make sound underwriting decisions.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive credit analysis on prospective and existing commercial customers
• Review credit reports from major credit agencies and internal records to assess creditworthiness
• Analyze financial statements, payment history, and other data to evaluate credit risk
• Make credit recommendations and underwriting decisions based on risk assessment
• Manage commercial account relationships and monitor ongoing credit exposure
• Document credit analysis and maintain underwriting files

What We're Looking For

• Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or underwriting
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data and credit reports
• Knowledge of credit evaluation principles and commercial lending practices
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation abilities
• Sound judgment and decision-making based on financial analysis
