Veritiv is hiring a full-time 2nd Pressperson – Assistant Lithographic Sheetfed Press Operator to join its pressroom team in the US, supporting production operations across a high-volume commercial printing environment.
About the Role
As a 2nd Pressperson, you'll work alongside experienced Press Operators to keep sheetfed lithographic presses running efficiently and to standard. This is a hands-on production role for someone who takes pride in print quality and wants to grow their pressroom career with a leading packaging and distribution company.
What You'll Do
- Support Press Operators during make-ready procedures for lithographic sheetfed press runs
- Operate press equipment in accordance with written job specifications and production schedules
- Set up and adjust folding equipment as required by each job
- Maintain consistent press register and color accuracy throughout each run
- Read and interpret job tickets to understand production requirements before and during the run
- Perform ongoing quality control checks to ensure output meets Veritiv's print standards
- Assist with press washups, paper loading, and general pressroom upkeep between jobs
- Communicate proactively with the lead operator about any quality or equipment issues
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in a pressroom or commercial printing environment preferred
- Familiarity with lithographic sheetfed press operations and make-ready procedures
- Ability to read and follow written job tickets and press instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around color, registration, and print quality
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production press equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines
- Team-oriented with clear, reliable communication skills
