Join St. Mary Magdalen in Brighton as our Director of Worship—a full-time leadership position serving the Diocese of Lansing. Reporting directly to the Pastor, you'll shape the spiritual and musical centerpiece of our parish community, working 30–40 hours per week to create reverent, joyful liturgical experiences that deepen parishioners' faith.
About the Role
The Director of Worship partners with the Pastor to lead authentic, meaningful worship at St. Mary Magdalen in Brighton, Michigan. This position combines liturgical leadership, music curation, and spiritual direction—stewarding our parish's commitment to celebrating the Mass with reverence and beauty while nurturing the prayer life of our community.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate liturgical celebrations that honor Catholic tradition while inspiring active parish participation
- Curate and oversee music for weekday and Sunday Masses, holy days, and special liturgical events
- Foster the parish's devotional and prayer life through programs, initiatives, and spiritual guidance
- Work collaboratively with the Pastor, volunteer musicians, and liturgy committees to implement the parish's worship vision
- Support faith formation and sacramental preparation through music and prayer leadership

- Solid foundation in Catholic theology, liturgy, and worship practices
- Musical expertise and ability to select and coordinate appropriate music for liturgical settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse parish groups

- Leadership capacity to inspire and develop volunteers in music and devotional ministries
