Sr PGD Central Maintenance Specialist – West County

NextEra Energy is hiring a Sr PGD Central Maintenance Specialist - West County in Loxahatchee, Palm Beach County, Florida. This full-time position offers the opportunity to maintain critical power generation infrastructure serving a major utility service area in South Florida.

About the Role

In this senior maintenance role, you'll be responsible for the upkeep and optimization of central power generation dispatch systems and related equipment. Your work directly supports the continuous, reliable delivery of electricity to hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses across the region. You'll apply your technical expertise to both routine maintenance and complex troubleshooting, working with proven protocols and industry best practices.

What You'll Do

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules on power generation and central dispatch equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system failures using testing and analytical techniques
• Perform equipment repairs, component replacement, and system adjustments to restore operational capacity
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment performance records
• Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to plan maintenance windows and minimize service interruptions
• Ensure all work meets OSHA safety requirements and company operational standards
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs and equipment emergencies as scheduled

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in power generation, utilities, or similar industrial environments
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and control instrumentation
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or vocational certification a plus
• Valid driver's license and clean background clearance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work reliably both independently and alongside cross-functional teams
