Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Data Center Construction

About the Role

As a Cost Manager and Quantity Surveyor, you'll own the financial and material performance of complex data center construction initiatives. You'll work directly with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to forecast costs, manage change orders, and optimize resource allocation throughout the construction lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for data center construction phases
• Conduct quantity surveys to measure and verify completed work against contract specifications
• Track project expenditures and forecast final costs with regular reporting to senior leadership
• Evaluate change orders, variations, and claims using technical analysis and cost justification
• Engage with general contractors and subcontractors on pricing, schedules, and payment milestones
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising quality
• Maintain detailed cost records and variance analyses to support decision-making

What We're Looking For

• Professional quantity surveying or cost management background, ideally in heavy construction or industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor practices, and procurement
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and spreadsheet-based financial modeling
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with contractors and internal teams
• Attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
• Experience in data center, technology infrastructure, or similar specialized construction a plus
